‘The Part In The Story Where We Lost Count Of The Days.’ is a monograph that reflects on the artistic approach of acclaimed artist and curator, Heman Chong. The brief was to keep the design ‘modern’ and ‘as simple as possible’, so that the images of the artworks would not be overshadowed by the book design and typography.
The typography of the book is designed using as few fonts as possible to allow the artworks to stand out. Negative space is used to create an information hierarchy and provide clear navigation for the reader.
The text on the front cover also allows for some minor, intentional misreadings to complement the title, which suggests the theme and imagery of ‘being lost’.
