‘1000 Singapores: 8 Points of the Compact City’ is a sequel to Singapore’s exhibition at the Venice Biennale in 2010, ‘1000 Singapores: A Model of the Compact City’.
Deriving a new visual identity while leveraging 1000 Singapore’s success in Venice, the logo is made up of dissected ‘red dots’ (semi-circles and quadrants) to represent the exhibition’s intention of looking inside Singapore and identifying its urban qualities. These shapes are also used to form the world map, further reiterating the fact that the ‘8 points’ can be combined in various permutations and could possibly be applied to any part of the world.
