‘I Want the Title of this Book to Be _’ is a book which showcases H55’s early works.
The idea of interaction in print, accidental beauty, authorship, design ownership and the ‘absoluteness’ of meaning, have been fundamental ideas prevalent in H55’s approach. These concepts therefore needed to be represented in the cover design.
The eventual solution was to use a sticker book jacket, consisting of the removable die-cut letters, ‘I-W-A-N-T-T-H-E-T-I-T-L-E-O-F-T-H-I-S-B-O-O-K-T-O-B-E’, which allows the title and final cover design to be completed by the reader.
Besides representing H55’s ideas, the book cover questions and redefines the relationship between author and reader, facilitating the collection of many unlikely titles for the publication.
